Description: Feast your senses on the enchanting original Brazilian and Afro-Cuban inspired melodies of the John Damberg Latin Jazz Quintet. This concert features a stellar lineup of Anchorage’s best Jazz/Latin Artists performing exciting compositions by Alaskan composers John Damberg and Mark Manners & Afro Cuban, Brazilian, and Trinidadian Latin Jazz giants specially selected for this event! The Quintet’s unique instrumentation blends John Damberg’s percussive marimba & steel drum, Karl Pasch’s woody clarinet, and Mark Manners rich classical guitar with Bob Andrews funky bass, & Cameron Cartland’s fiery drum set grooves. This promises to be a one of a kind evening with the band members blending & mixing their musical artistry creating exotic melodies over hot Latin Rhythmic grooves including Trinidadian Soca and Calypsos, Cuban Songo, Mambo, Cha Cha, Cha, and Brazilian Samba, Bossa Nova, Baion. This performance is guaranteed to lift your spirits and make your body move!
